Cotton fabrics to decorate

Chintz:

Chenille:
This is one of the fabrics used in upholstery for softness and pleasant feel of furry addition to its great resistance. It may be cotton, wool or linen, but usually includes a percentage of synthetics. It should be drying cleaned and is ideal for upholstery and plaids.

Jacquard:
Named after the loom used for making them, invented by Frenchman Joseph M. Jacquard (1752). The peculiarity is that, by a mechanism of cross thread, the drawing is done during the weaving process itself, so that the pattern is on both sides. They are resistant fabrics.

Canvas:
It is a type of fabric woven with cotton yarn, with a greater proportion of fabric that frame, so that the latter is completely hidden and the fabric is smooth. It is a strong fabric, ideal for today’s upholstery pieces and widely used. Also offers good value for money.

Organdy:
It is a fabric of fine cotton yarn, widely used for making light curtains. Receive a chemical treatment that gives it its characteristic stiffness and transparency. It often comes with delicate embroidery. In addition to tablecloths are made curtains and cushions.

Velvet:
This material, distinctive for their soft touch and elegant fall, consists of two warps and a weft yarn thick, soft and long, which makes for one of the faces, hairy surface. Although formerly the velvet was woven in silk, is now more common to find cotton or acrylic.
